So I was talking with my mother today about a military career and she frowned, told me nothing on the frontlines unless its the airforce(due to high pay and good benefits)

She says that joining an infantry rank is just signing up to be cannon fodder
I really want to be a sidelines worker who fixes small vehicles and heavy armor or a helicopter pilot

discuss todays military and military careers

the only thing i'd consider joining the military for is the benefits that would go towards my education and the education of my kids-to-be

otherwise, i'd never put my life on the line. im too pusillanimous individual

Be a sniper, you're away from the action.

What exactly do you mean sidelines?

lol

Not away from other snipes though :3.

If you are really good with a loving awesome scope and rifle then you're away from other snipes :3

Air Force has incredibly good benefits, do that, and when your contract expires, you can sign up again or fly commercial. My dad has some friends that work with him that did that.

I thought about going into the Air Force, too bad I'm too bad to pilot a jet.
I heard you had to be like 5'8 or something.

You know nothing on how real snipers operate. Especially on modern fields of war. Most of it is urban and that means you go into urban environments too. You also are picked from a group of infantry that score good on their marksman tests for their weapons. Point is, snipers are pretty hard to get into, and are hard to be.

silly mom. There's no such thing as cannon fodder or frontlines in this war.
She must think you're going to go into D-day all over again

I thought that was a designated marksman.

Silly skelolego, you're too pusillanimous individual for the army!
