Author Topic: Who remembers the days trader taunted us with elevators?  (Read 2067 times)

We always thought it would be released and we'd have the best time ever with it.

Feels bad man.

And the point, who else remembers them?
They were boxy DTSes that could be sent to diffrent floors with events, shortly after V9 released.

Oh very. Now since Kalphiter released his elevators, people are not exicted as much BEFORE it was released.

I'd still like to have Trader's elevators though :(

didn't we used to have a mirror mod?

didn't we used to have a mirror mod?

No that was a hilarious hoax someone did

ahaha, i remember that now :D

I remember trying them on his server.

You're all stupid-o's. I doubt any of you remember the true reason why they were never released. I shall explain now, so come, sit on Uncle Donkey forgeters lap and let him tell you a story.

   Traders elevators were never released simply because the current physics system in blockland prevents them from being anything but stuffty movers, example: Kalphiters elevators. The elevator brick that Trader dreamed of didn't have to be spawned via console, didn't have to be controled via console etc etc, but rather have a gui and sensors to tell it when and how high to go up. There was a GUI that only a few people received that I never got my actual hands on back when I tested for him, but, if I remember correctly, he said it was something of a gui with a picture of a brick and you would put in the values;

Height of each floor
Width of elevator
Elevator music
Elevator style

After inputting the values, you'd select the elevator brick from the bricks menu, and with events, you'd relay the values from the gui to the elevator (I think, I don't remember this part completely), in any case, the elevators were envisioned to be able to move vehicles, move with bricks on them, but, the current system in blockland prevented it from being able to do such, it also prevented from the elevators from going through currently spawned bricks, but, none of that was possible without some engine changes that Badspot wouldn't do for Trader, and, Trader never begged, just sat patiently and waited his turn.

The end.

tl;dr trader didn't do his homework

Not really. He couldn't change the engine himself.

Yes, but he should have done his homework and known the engine would require a change to do that.

I remember back when everyone though I was Trader asking me why my name changed because my ID was 1 higher.
