Author Topic: A client sided ragdoll on death  (Read 1923 times)

This is for people that know about tumble and how it works.
Would a client sided vehicle work? And if it does, the vehicle used in the ski's tumble wouldn't have to be used to create the mod. Maybe it would work as a vehicle with no-collision, and the rest could be client-sided.
Pros: It wouldn't lag the server, it wouldn't have the problems listed in this post, and other people wouldn't have to look at you when you die standing up, and it would keep it fun for those who liked the mod.
Cons: It would lag you, because of all the other players tumbling, and you can't disable it at any moment because it is a client-sided mod.

I hope someone decides to make this.

i don't think you can have client sided vehicles and things because its a datablock

Tumble on death isn't even close to a proper ragdoll effect.

It wouldn't be proper, but you wouldn't have to use tumble. You could use a heavier vehicle, which would make the ragdoll effect not as high, because it is pretty bouncy.

Uhh, how can this be Client Sided if it affects everyone on the server.

He means in your view.
Like if you had it and your bro. didn't, when you look on his screen there will be no tumblers while on your screen everyone is tumbling

The effect of a person tumble would be seen only by the Client who has the script.

As well as the post above, Blockland doesn't have the script available to support a Ragdoll Death.  However, If you mean your Camera staying attached to your head view while you die, as in seeing yourself fall back I can understand.  If you mean literally Ragdoll, cant happen.

it would take alot of bandwith but it is pretty cool.
