That was loving amazing, thank you for sharing yuki.

I have not yet read _Rave_'s raves that I can only assume would occur,_Rave_ is an athiest wut? Well I still haven't read most of this thread. However to carry on:

As a Christian of sorts myself I do not find any offense in this video. Maybe its because I actually disapprove of religion. While I support pursuit of spiritual enlightenment and contemplation about God and such, I do not agree with the man-made hierarchical construct of religion as it exists. When one says religion, images of people sitting in church before a pastor appear in your mind. This should not be so. Religion should be personal, a 1-on-1 connection with the Creator. I find it utterly handicapped that Christians put so much effort in going to church to follow the teachings of a man, when by our very belief system, Jesus died for us to get a closer more direct connection to god.
If God exists, which I do believe, I think that such a video really puts into perspective how awesome he is if we could create us. I also agree that religion shouldn't interfere with the pursuit of knowledge and scientific progress. Vaguely quoting Pope John Paul II on the subject of extraterrestrials, to deny the possibility of the existence of such is to place limits on God's power.

In my books the entirety of human religion is complete bull, this includes any stuff about Jesus and whatever the forget else.

I won't dismiss the possibility of a higher power beyond our comprehension. Sometimes I ponder what could truely be behind this chaotic beauty that is the universe and the only conclusion I can come to is a higher power with only one intention - to create. For creation is a beautiful thing
I do not believe this higher power-if it exists-has any concern for humanity, the way I see it humanity is still the result of the universes truely incredible processes.

We are inexistent in comparison to the grand symphony that is the universe, insignificant in comparison to the immense scale that is the universe.

My Two Cents: Breathtaking imagery in this video. Astronomy rocks despite what one's beliefs are.

I can't believe some people are ignorant enough to actually call the Human race the only ife in the universe, and that Earth is the only living planet.

Jeez it's like Galileo galilei and the Pope again.

"GOD PUT US IN THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE, WE ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE HERE"

      "No, we aren't"

500 years later we become friends with numerous amounts of life on other planets while the church-

"THIS UNIVERSE IS THE ONLY UNIVE-" so on and on.

Knowledge of the cosmos gets more advance, and so does the churches by taking it for their own example.

I don't know what ife is, but finding alien life would not be against the Christian Bible. You have to take in consideration that Moses was centered around living on Earth while writing Genesis, and didn't have much technology available to explore space, and yet he doesn't discredit that the Creator, assuming he exists, could have created life on other planets.

Adding to that, Early Mormon beliefs state that if you lived a devout enough life that one would gain their own planet to create life of their own design on. So according to the Mormons, it's impossible for Humanity to be the only life out there. That and the whole 7 wives to a husband deal.

Riot, please make sure you know all the facts before you assume all Christian faiths believe in a singular idea or goal. There wouldn't be that many branches of the church if they all went by the stereotype.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deism

There is a word for believing in a deity but not being a part of a religious construct. I detest religion, the biggest ones do absolutely no good for the world, but the belief in god is harmless and philosophical.

I completely agree with you Ladios. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I don't care how we got here, the fact is that we are here.

Very well stated, Ladios. :)

Why didn't we think of this a couple of million years back? It would have saved a hell of a lot of random crap from happening.

I myself am an athiest, and firm believer in science. However, I do not see religion as a pile of bs, since people are entitled to their own opinion; Up to a point. All this "We are the only ones", "We are God's Children" stuff that a lot of religions seem to focus on is, frankly, pathetic. Yes, maybe it's true that 70 years ago space travel was only beginning to get a foothold, and science was limited, but in a modern society, religion is just old, pointless and out of place. There's not point denying what is staring you in the face.

Anyway...Ladios ftw!

Lol at all the nerd repsponses. I liked the video a lot
