I want to be some sort of freedom fighter, killing people involved in government conspiracies and weeding out the corruption in our country. That or just work at burger king or something, as long as I can afford a small apartment and internet and a game or 2 every month I am happy, being able to afford food would also be a plus.

Jerkoff kids wanting to be engineers.
We probably aren't talking about the same thing.

What kind of engineering are you talking about?

Join the police force or the National Guard.
Vigilantism is a very bad idea.

Note, you'll need to have enough money for these things:

  • Apartments rent
  • Utilities fee
  • Decent internet speed around 35-55$ a month
  • Food around 40-60$ a month depending on your diet
  • Games at this time are around 50-60$ a game so that's about 100-120$ a month

Say you get the bare minimum, you'll probably need a job that pays around 1,500$ a month.

:o

Either sales or legal work.

Game programmer.
Or atleast part of a game programming team.

And what if that fails?

Everyone here who said something related should have something to fall back on.
And I have two things if engineering doesn't work out.
Not to mention that engineering is a very wide career.
Quite a few possibilities.

Dumb
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biomedical_engineering And maybe medicine.
Biomedical engineering is a new field and is a joke. It's like a mixture of medicine, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering except you are not particularly skilled in any one field enough to be useful.

Plus, your list didn't contain electrical engineering. What a stuffty list.

Your opinion matters to me.

Your opinion matters to me.
It should.

I want to be the electrical engineers and play with circuits all day.

Train driver.

Because my childhood dreams demanded it.

It should.

*Works like a man anyway.*

Ha.  You are a gigantic doucebag.  My cousin goes to CalTech, and she knows a lot of Biomed Engineers and they are working on stem cells.

You know, like growing organs like kidneys.  52,000 people needed kidneys last year, and only 2,000 got one.

Most of these jobs are so stupid I can't explain it.  You all have to face it, most people will end up working in an office.  Testing games is just looking for bugs, and I highly doubt anyone can support a family off that.  Creating successful indie games is very challenging, and likely to fail.
