Steam scam much, they do the intentionally so people will buy these games to get the change to win 100 other games, but its not worth it in the first place because of the money you'd probably spend just to enter.

Ah well already got every decent game on Steam Store anyway that doesn't cost a fortune due to Americans being cheap asses and raising the prices in Australia digital download.

Actually Steam is like the only service that doesn't do that, unless my account is bugged or something. I always pay the regular USD price (unfortunately that goes via PayPal's exchange rate which is still at 96 US cents to the AUD, where the current rate is 99.5 US cents/AUD)

Unlike Blizzard whose online store charges like $60 USD for Starcraft II then swaps to the Australian store when I try to buy it and charges $100 anyway :I

That's not a scam, that's marketing. Of course it's intentional, it brings in revenue. It's the same reason they released Alien Swarm for free. Anyway, the contest is just to advertise the holiday sales Steam is having, you don't have to purchase a stuff ton of games, the reward are hats in TF2. Not to mention you don't even have to purchase anything to enter the contest anyway.

If I were ever to win this, I would probably pick 25 to 30 games and let the steam staff and/or other people pick the other games at random.
