server ranking system

I was thinking that when you leave a server, it would pop up a window that views a green thumb up and a red thumb down. This is basicly a ranking system for server. When you look at the server list, you can see all servers popularity beside where it shows the map.

All servers would get tons of negative votes for the most ridiculous reasons, if any reason at all.

People would negatively vote a server because they had a fight with the host on another server, or had a fight with a person in that server on another server, or that their favorite add-on wasn't there, or that they wanted admin and didn't get it. etc.

Others will down-vote every other server and bribe people to vote up their server, just to be the top of the list and appear to be the best server, when it is likely just crap.

In addition to what Phy said, a good 25% of blockland is full of people who go "Lol u spai :3 trolololol" who will downvote your server just out of "Lulz :3".

But maybe if you must write a 50 (at least) letter long review of the server to be able to rank it?

Or end up actually reviewing what people vote, which is what is we want to avoid.

A better way would be if they could comment on the server, there would be no rankings but you could check what people thought of it.
And if people do decide to say "trololollol server sux XD" well they have no reason so ignore it

That sounds just as unnecessary. People can put what they would in the comment box in the server chat instead, and say "trolololol" or "awesome fun" straight up to the host directly.

Also , if this ranking server came to be , all new servers would not be joined in the least.

What if it was only a green thumb? You would add a 'recommendation'. You could only recommend once per server, only do it in game, and take back you recommendation if you wanted. Then, servers could be filtered by number of recommendations.
