Sounds like a pretty decent gaming computer, but I don't think you need quite that much RAM. I think 4 GB would be enough. c:
First Post! :D!

You don't need any thermal paste and if you plan on gaming I would go for a amd quad core which is much much cheaper

EDIT: Also I wouldn't use an intel motherboard because they're more expensive than a msi or gigabyte.

Don't get 16GB of RAM. That's just foolish.

Yeah, Windows only utilizes 3 I think. Go for 4 GB of RAM.

32 bit operating systems only utilize 3GB of RAM. 64 bit utilizes up to 128GB, which is way more than you could ever hope to need.

This. I mean, really, if you want to run 200 programs at once, you're gonna need one o' them 12-cores they put in the new Mac towers as well as the RAM.

Oh, also, the video card looks like it kinda sucks

Don't get the 450. At that price it'd be much better to go with the GTX 460 768 MB.

They're all from 140-165 and are much better in terms of performance.

You're overpaying for RAM. Go to Newegg and get the G-Skill Rip-Jaws 8GB memory (4GBx2).

What.

Thermal paste is a compound that allows better heat transfer between the cooler and the CPU, and he doesn't need it because it generally comes pre-applied to the underside of the cooler, not because it's superfluous to the needs of a gaming PC.

Also, my suggestion would be to drop back to an AMD Phenom II X4 955 and use the $120 you'll be saving on a new video card.

@ Ram Issue: Im going all out with Ram, Honostly, I thought the same and I was only going to buy just 2x4Gb but I want to fill the slots up as much as possible and no you idiots im not getting a 32 bit OS, im getting Windows 7 ultima 64 bit. No way I was gona buy 16 GB of ram and only use 4 of it... Now THAT would be foolish...

@CPU : Is AMD better? I heard Intel is FAR more superior.

@Video Card : Well I was looking for a 1Gb or larger video card, I would even use SLI if I had another full running PCIx16 slot but I thought having alot of Video cards would be just plain "Excessive"

@ Thermal Paste : Are you stupid? I just said I WILL be over clocking, stock thermal paste will not be enough for the CPU, plus, wuts better, paying between 10-20 bucks or paying another 250 for replacing a burned CPU...

Edit: How is this saving me money? You only saved me around $40...

original CPU

AMD CPU

Thanks for the input btw guys... Keep it comming :D

The only thing your going to accomplish with that is wasting your money. I have 4gb, and I've never had problems. 16gb isn't even close to being necessary unless your doing things like rendering huge video files or simulations, or maybe a server machine, hosting several different servers at the same time. It's just a waste of money for you, spend it on something useful, like a better/another video card.

Really, spend the $200 not spent on useless RAM on a better video card.

Alrighty, Any recommendations then?

Either a 480 or two 460s.
Or there's the new 500 series
Not sure which would be best so someone else help out there
