I'm wanting to do 8-bit art for an art project, but I don't exactly know what determines 8-bit. I understand that it's a small amount of pixels being displayed, but how many? What's the resolution of an 8-bit image?

Something about the number of colors or so I've heard.
8 bit= 8,000 colors
16 bit= 16,000 colors
