Alrighty. Two things I really want to get right now, a 27" monitor, or a new GPU.

Here are the contestants:

EVGA NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 460

REASONS TO GET:

  • I currently have a GeForce 9500 GS, and it is stuff.
  • This would mean I could play Shattered Horizon and Crysis better, for once
  • Just better performance overall, this is the only component I'm missing right now
$189.99 CAD

Asus MT276HE

REASONS TO GET:

  • I currently have a 22" screen from HP that can be rotated vertically, so I could have them side-by-side and it would be forgetin' cool
  • My current screen is only 1680x1050 resolution, this new one is 1920x1080
$289.99 CAD

screen.

it's loveier than the current one you have.

What GPU do you have now?

screen because it's made by the guys who made my secksy laptop

I'd personally go for LG. Nice res on mine I have now.

Yaaaaay, ASUS. These people with their fancy-shmancy monitors these days, I've still got a CRT covered in stickers :D

Is that monitor a higher resolution than your current monitor? If so, you might need a better GPU to play games on it anyway.

My current GPU is a Nvidia GeForce 9500 GS.

I'm really loving tired of it. I've had it repaired already before and it's still noisy, performance also sucks

I'd say the GPU

Gpu. The one you have might not run 2 monitors. Unless the other monitor has a newer vga connector or if you get an hdmi. Also dual monitors can slow performance and your current card might be slow based on your description.

Ew, LG.

Unless your current monitor is like 17" 1024x768 I'd go for the GPU. You'll need a better GPU than a 9500 to play games at 1920x1080 on the 27" screen anyway.

It's at 1680x1050 right now, and that isn't too bad.

I tried playing games like Crysis on my dad's TV (1920x1080), and it was fine, but still.

I'd go for the GPU.

It's more important to have an actually faster computer than one that you can see the freezing in HD.
