is it just me or is the zoom while using aim mode broken?

I wouldn't know unless that was always a feature and not a S3 improvement.

IIRC it always zoomed in when you used aim mode in beta and early retail, then when I came back it stopped zooming in. It's a gameplay or HUD option I think, and it's on by default....it just doesn't work.

Hmmm I've never noticed it. I usually hugged the walls and made it seem like an FPS, myself. lol

gawd I hope S4 gives us mass effect-style combat.

Now that would be impressive, but I really don't like the fact that the only way to survive in ME2 is to hide behind stuff. Gears of War relies heavily on that too. Oh well, I guess it's better than having a bunch of Halo rejects.

On the plus note, I am talking to a guy who might have a video card I can use and I pray that it's enough, I really want to play this game again....as if I haven't been whining about it enough. lol

I prefer cover being what's lying around. Back in my day, anything between you and the enemy was cover, wether it was a burned-out humvee, rock formation, or stone wall. None of these ridiculous snap-to-cover systems involving hundreds of chest-high walls.

BACK IN MY DAY WE HAD BFG 9000s

Just got into it again, currently Lieutenant 8 I think. Friend found one of those super rare items while we were doing quests and made 250,000 credits. Its lots of fun in a group rather then soloing, not a fan of the ground stuff though.

getting stuff for R&D is annoying.

getting stuff for R&D is annoying.
That I will agree with. When I get back on the game, I will have to look into the whole R&D deal as when I was playing before, I kept talking to people and all they would tell me is to go to that person. Never was able to hand anything in or craft save from what's her face at Mem-alpha. I guess it's one of those accumulative effects. Get enough crafting experience to make higher level things. Just never had the patience to figure it out or ask.

so you got it working rug?

No, sadly. These are just stock screenprints I made when it was working. I'm waiting on a new video card and I hope that helps. I was also given a free laptop that works fine save for the screen being darkened out to the point of not being able to see hardly anything on it. Whichever one I get to work first, I will try to get back on STO. I don't know if the laptop would be able to handle it, but it's always worth a shot.
