Author Topic: Will this computer be able to run Kingdom Hearts on an Emulator? (Read 1311 times)

I'm buying myself a new computer for christmas, and i've been looking around on a few sites non-stop for one that's good, but still not too expensive (Looking for a price which isn't going over my physical limit, which is about 450 bucks.).

Will this, or this computer be able to run Kingdom hearts on a PS2 emulator (with the right settings)? If not, could anyone suggest me another computer? I really want to play it some time, because I own the disc, but I lost my power cable of my PS2 (Long story, which includes bringing my PS2 to a friends house, and suddenly cats).

I am not talking about getting an ISO or anything, but i'm just talking about emulation. Also, I'm not really interested in getting a new power cable for my PS2, nor get a PS3. I love the neat-ness of putting the disc in my computer, and being able to play it on me compy :D

Is there a PS3 emulator?
If so, how?
Since I've got some ps3 games that I'd rather play on the laptop with a controller than on a blurry TV :(

I suggest the gaming one if 60-90% of the time, you're going to be playing games.

The first one is better but both should be able to do it. But isn't this illegal?

If you own a physical copy of the game downloading a ROM for it isn't illegal.

Do you know what an ISO Image is?

-A computer can't read game discs, because they're designed differently than traditional CD/DVD discs.
-An ISO Image is a file that is intended to be run by a program like Damon Tools that emulates the presence of a disc in a drive.
-An emulator is a program that reads special game files and emulates a console drive, allowing the game to be run on a computer.
-Power cables for the PS2 are like $5.

If it's not a PS2 Slim, you can buy a PS1 cable and use it. I have a Slim, so I'm not entirely sure.

Actually, computers can read PS2 discs, you don't have to download or go some other round-about way to acquire them.

Oh and also, I notice those computers you linked to have on-board graphics cards. It'd be much better to get a stand alone card, I'm not sure if on-board graphics can handle what you want to do. I mean, those types of graphics have gotten better, so they might be able to handle something as simple as kingdom hearts.
