Author Topic: Need Game Advice - PC  (Read 1352 times)

I'm looking to buy a PC game as a present for someone I know, but am having a few problems.

Criteria:
Must be in a 3D virtual environment where you must make movement and tactical decisions in real time
MMOs are frowned upon
Excessive gore is a no-no
It would be nice if the premise were anything but just shooting people.
Time period (Modern, fantasy, etc.) doesn't really matter
No blocky games. (Yes, I know this is blockland. The irony police must be after me already. (And yes, I love blockland, the person just doesn't like blocky things.))

She already has Oblivion and Spore, which were both decent. Portal fits the criteria perfectly, but was a little too intense for her right now.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm. Not bad. I took a look and Fallout could work. Though reviews say that it would be best to wait before getting NV.

Katamari Damacy looked really good and I've heard a lot about it. Then I realized it was only for Playstation. I am disappoint.

Is she 7 or something?
Serious question.

15, she just doesn't play videogames. Really at all. However, she requested a game with the stated criteria namely for the sake of becoming more accustomed to working within a 3D environment.

I just don't understand how Portal is "intense."

Any of the Total War series.

Oh, then I wouldn't recommend Fallout.
You could get her Minecraft, maybe. :u

No blocky games.

We have Minecraft and it's awesome. She just doesn't like blocky things. Girls are weird.

Morrowind?  I'm pretty sure it is a lot like Oblivion.
