Author Topic: Map - Pandora. (It's not about liking Avatar- it's got an interesting design.)  (Read 7059 times)

Support from me, too.

If done well, this would be like... the best map for fortwars in the history of Blockland.

Oh, and Avatar is ftw.

I don't think that much detail can be pulled off... unless you want a .dif file with 5fps and 50mb file size. However, I think a floating island/mountain map could be nice.

GSF used a lot of detail in his maps, usually I had very minimal lag and etc

i may try to build something like it, probably never finish :D

Oh please, all his DIF maps were just a bunch of boxes (some were just hollow boxes) and the occasionally slightly detailed object. What you're asking for is detailed floating mountains and nature entities.

ToB made one of these maps.

Just port it.

Wrong? And the OP didn't say that they want a very detailed one. And if you ask me, I'd enjoy a kind of cross between the "Worlds" map, and some sort of outdoor map. I think it wouldn't be that bad.

Since this is actually a building game, maps like these were not planed. You usually need a flat ground to build something in blockland.

Like I said. You could keep them square and blocky like the asteroids in the Worlds Map. They are lined up with the grid, and are blocky. I think a blocko version would be awesome.

But ew block pandora.

Hollow boxes is a harsh way of putting it. You are oversimplifying to make a point, which doesn't help your cause. While they weren't completely detailed, it was for a reason - as stated earlier - who wants to have 5fps on a well detailed map. Pointless.

It wouldn't look good at all. Mainly because of blockland's lack of advanced lighting. The trees won't make the forest dark, everything will be lit on all sides, it would look horrible in blockland.
