Anyone remember this game? It's a shame it died. I was really looking forward to Delta 6.
I managed to get it working by tweaking a Redux patch.
SMOD: Tactical is mod in which you can play through the half life 2 series, but with advanced AI, weapons and gameplay. An example would be that some soldier's carry shields. Its also executes a variety of functions, allowing enemies to fire their weapon shortly after death, and ragdolls to stiffen up for a little bit before slumping to simulate a realistic death.
Not to mention the gore is hilarious, but can also provide a realistic feel if toned to the right level.
Not only does smod allow you to play through half life 2, it also comes with a couple maps that suit it's game play very well. This includes a strip club (not child friendly, lol) and, my personal favorite, and uurban combat map. Unfortunately the urban combat map was never finished and is still in development textures.
TL;DR
Smod tactical is a mod with excellent gore, coding and guns and provides a realistic atmosphere.
