Building new computer - NEED ADVICE BY TONIGHT!! -

So, I've been browsing around at computers, and I decided that going for a hardcore rig right off the line is pointless because I don't want to blow all of my x-mas money right away, so what I decided is to look at barebone kits and then just upgrade as I go. This is currently what I'm thinking of doing, I need your guys' advice as to whether or not the parts are compatible and stuff since I've never done a barebone kit, always custom built parts in store and assembled. So this is what I'm looking at;

Get a GTX 460, then you'll be sorted.
Get a nice PSU, and a full tower case. Get a nice motherboard as well. And kit out your fans so they're quiet.

Those are pretty decent rigs but I'm not too fond of the video cards. Nvidia is awesome but the one you're looking at isn't too powerful. I hate Radeons but honestly if you had to choose between the two I'd go with the Radeon. I guess I'm just pampered by my lovey 460GTX.

Overall those are really nice computers to use as a starter and to swap parts out later.

I don't have room under my desk for a full tower. And that mobo is fine because I don't plan on ever OC'ing my computer. And the fans I'm going to go ape stuff with. Lol.


Note, I think I'm gonna go with rig 3. It seems like the best deal :o

Full towers are useless, the only advantage is more fan space. Which I really don't need because I have a ton of high power fans already.

All of those are decent rigs in comparison to most of the peoples computers on this forum. Not to mention I'll be upgrading the hell out of them to beef them up.

You are loving handicapped. The only reason to get a full-tower is for internal water cooling which also happens to work great in mid-tower cases too.

I would go with rig 3 and a gtx 460. It's definitely worth the extra $50 or the 5770.

Aye. Rig 3 is the most powerful of them all. And I think I'll go with the gtx 460 to be honest. Except does that mobo support pci e 2.0? I couldn't find anything about it..

It has two PCI-e 2.0 slots, from the looks of it.
