Author Topic: Steam Sale - What should I get?  (Read 1840 times)

I'm limiting myself to 30$ worth of games on Steam but what should I get?
This is my list of games that I'm picking out and deciding what to get.

I wanna hear your opinions on what I should get with my 30$.
You can also suggest other games outside the list as long it dosen't require a computer with a really good graphic/video card.

LIST OF WHAT I'M definitely GETTING
TEAM FORTRESS 2 $9.99

EXTRA LIST (Does not include my 30$)
SUPER MEAT BOY OR SOMETHING $3.75

TF2, Company of Heroes and Aaaa if you don't mind it getting a bit the same after a while. GTA SA for sure, though I can't see a price on that because its not sold in Australia.

Get Super Meat Boy. Now before the sale disappears again.

forget the Australian government amirite?

It's for $10.04 if you wanted to know.

AaAaAA! - Good, but gets kinda tiring after a while.  The in-your-face presentation was overwhelming for me, I really didn't get it.

Beat Hazard - Just another indie game that gets kinda popular for taking something from Audiosurf, which wasn't that good in the first place.

Delve Deeper - Don't know about this one, doesn't look too good.

Zombie Driver - Excellent.  Really, I mean really, good.  New huge updates bring a lot more life into what would've been a stale game.

Company of Heroes - Hands down the best RTS of all time.  Get Tales of Valor as well, it gives you all of the extra multiplayer content (new factions, etc.)

GTA:SA - I'd go with GTA4 and spend a bit extra money.

KOTOR - I can't believe you haven't played this yet.  Now that it's old, it's kinda lost it's lustre, and isn't as groundbreaking anymore with the likes of Mass Effect and Dragon Age.  In other words, great at it's time, now, kinda meh.

Call of Duty WaW - If you're going to get any old CoD, get the first Modern Warfare, or grab the 2nd one while it's on sale.  Don't get WaW, it's terrible.

Team Fortress 2 - Why not?  No need to explain anything here, great game.

Bejeweled 3 - Really?  I'd go with Puzzle Quest first (basically Diablo with Bejeweled as the combat system, really great game), and if not that, Peggle.

Monday Night Combat - Don't know about this one.  Whatever.

Super Meat Boy - Get it, but if you're like me and don't play games for the challenge, you won't like it as much.  Be prepared to spend hours redoing levels because of their enormous difficulty.  Most people claim that's part of the fun, you can decide that for yourself.

Depths of Peril - What? Never heard of this.

All in all, you have a fairly good list of cheap games, with some glaring mistakes (please, whatever you do, don't get World at War) but otherwise you're fine.

day of defeat counter strike and TF2 there all great but day of defeat is the best it is a bit
like star wars battle front were you pick classes and then go to war but with world war
2 and company of heros pick some of them but not all
:panda: :panda: :panda: :panda: :panda: :panda:

GTA:SA - I'd go with GTA4 and spend a bit extra money.
GTA 4 sucks.

GTA IV is awesome, I like realistic vehicles and not fast moving boxes like GTA III to SA.

Probably, I bought my copy back when it was first released on the PC. There's only like 3 decent games that have been banned in Australia which is no big deal in the end. The censoring is what gets you.

Get Super Meat Boy. Do it.

I am not sure if I can run GTA4 anyways. I know I am definitely getting Team Fortress 2 though...

the way battles work takes ages to get used to and its all calculated with dice rolls

Anyone want to list the pros and the cons on some games?

Didn't you read my list?  If you want a second opinion, be my guest, but that's pretty much it.
