Standard spawns give you like 3 second invincibility time. The problem is that, for the most part, people like to pick weapons or spawn in a special room. So the invincibility is used up before they even get out into the field. But if they were just given artificial spawn invincibility when they left the room, that would have it's own problems.

On a related note. I think it would be could to have some sort of power source in a base, that would supply it's soldiers with various shields of different strengths depending on how far they were from the base. So the difficulty for one team to push another back into their base would increase the farther they got. I think a lot of neat strategies could come out of it, however, snipers would become way too powerful.

If I'm in some huge DM and somebody spawns right in front of me, what am I supposed to do?
Run away and count to ten to make sure I'm playing fair?

Lower tolerance for stuff means less people will host stuff.

Or how about instead of fighting with the T key and caps lock you hit Q, pull out a gun, and shoot back. 3/4 of the people getting "spawnkilled" complain about it instead of spawning, and shooting back.

My ol' blockrace sniper was probably the most complicated class

Sniper Rifle
-5 damage / bullet
-Does more damage the further away the target is (up to 30 damage)
-has Rifle Heat
 -firing adds heat
 -heat fades over time
 -more heat = less accuracy
 -large amounts of heat = self damage
-7 round clip with a slow reload time
-sharpshooter class has low hp and low movement speed.

Most DMs:
Sniper rifle
-90-500 damage per shot
-medium-long cooldown
-perfect accuracy all the time
-sometimes has brick entry
-raycasts

Impulses are lame. When I host, I pretty well reduce the impulses to barely anything.
Thus, someone could press Q and click in someone's general direction in less than 2.5 seconds.

However, if it is class-based, you are not invincible when you spawn on the battlefield. Heavy/Medic pair at spawn is an example.

Spawnkilling is a loss of respect for you fellow players. They are here to have a good time, just like you. Everyone wins if spawnkilling can either be averted or restrained. A lot of you just want to spawnkill so you can be an ass-forget and rack up as many points as possible.

Averted spawnkilling can be tough to make at times, depending on your ability to build and event. Restrained spawnkilling is respecting the host's building ability and your fellow players. It's quite unfortunate that everyone takes their "Internet egos" to the game. Leave it for 4chan.

I know that sounds REALLY cheesy, but it's what I think.
