Author Topic: The friends Over at Gamestop  (Read 3481 times)

So my brother and his friend want to go to Gamestop and pick up Black Ops. He has the money so why not. I drive them to the mall and go to Gamestop.

I already have the game, I'm familiar with its content.

As there looking for the game on the wall, I'm holding a space in line checking out a guide to Fallout: New Vegas. So they get the game, and come up to the register. Some fat guy that most likely lives in his mom's basement, the usual Gamestop worker, is working the counter.

"Are you familiar with the consisting content, gore, harsh language, online multiplayer, the occasional f-bomb, [he goes on for like 40 seconds] etc?"

This starfish is trying to shun me for taking my brother to buy Black Ops. I'm familiar with the content, I don't need a 5 minute description about the game I play every day.

You're a stoopy. They're policy requires them to say that. But gamestop employees are either real richardheads or really cool guys.

Mostly they ask if they have a parent with you, or a drivers license.

It his job you richard. They say that every time an adult buys an M game for a child. It seems like he didn't inconvenience you at all

way better than my local bestbuy, in which they asked my dad for his ID when my brother's was perfectly acceptable.  It was so loving weird.  The gamestop thing is probably policy.

Yea, the don't say that because they want to they say it because they have to.

He could have had a less richardheaded-attitude. I have no problem with the policy, it's just the say he said it.

"The game is too mature for these kids."

Hey, forget you. Who the forget do you think you are to tell me that my brother isn't mature enough to  play that game. So, to convince me of the nature of the game, he wants to make a preconceived notion that my brother isn't mature? forget off.

Those were the starfish's exacts words, by the way, "The game is too mature for these kids."

It's just policy, they're required to do it. Sounds like you're pissy over nothing, how is the cashier supposed to know you own the game anyways?

Stop saying that crap.

When my dad got Black ops all the guys said was:

Do you know this game has gore and a lot of cursing?

And my dad was all cool saying "They hear me say the F-bomb a whole lot, nothing knew."

He then said cursed right in front of the guy to us.

Well whoop dee doo, a warning, I'm fine with that. But to go on a 50 second Glenn Beck rant and include that my brother isn't mature enough for the game is a preconceived assumption which he can go bag his fat ass with.

You may be reading this and may think I overreacted, but I guess you had to be there to understand what I mean.

You are overreacting. He followed his policy. What's wrong with that? Even if he did have "an attitude" who gives a forget?

Oh, I understand what you mean perfectly.

I was talking to the people who are saying "You have your panties in a knot Oneo."
I'm only 13 and my parents and people I meet say I have a 21 year olds mentality.

That guy was being a real prick making assumptions.

You extrememly overreacted

they are LEGALLY required to say that. the Game Rating Administration makes them.

You are overreacting.

He was doing his job.

Just admit you are wrong.  :cookieMonster:
