Author Topic: Space Elevator Project (Very Heavy)  (Read 15114 times)

I've been working on this giant thing for a week now.  The structure itself is made up of 3 parts, the first being the base, the second the elevator shaft itself and the third being the station at the top.

Starting off, a pic of the whole structure
[/img]

Beginning the tour, we'll hit the base facility. Here's the front
[/img]

And a side view of some pipes and valves and stuff
[/img]

And an underside view of the facility
[/img]

Now some interior views, the small hangar
[/img]

And the Elevator shaft entrance
[/img]

Here's a roof top view of the elevator
[/img]

Now we jetpack upwards for about a minute, and reach the station (largely unfinished, but it's getting there)
Starting off with a view of the entrance
[/img]

And a view of the hangar (Yes, you can actualy land Stunt planes back in with reletive ease, it's aweseome!)
[/img]

And to finish things off, a view of the side seeing the Hangar and Soon-to-be occupied factory bay
[/img]

And an overall view of the station from above
[/img]

It's largely unfinished (Need to add furnishing, more lasers, more fire, maybe even more lasers, and Half Life 2 Prints a bit everywhere would be nice). Feel free to rate x/10 of what you think up until now.

very cool that would be a awsome place to fly planes around and do a buch of crazy things with them and then land and have a big dm! awsome so far 6/10 it looks a bit empty

Sweet, but that must lag horrible?

Welcome to retail?

That looks like a very interesting build, despite the fact that making that with real blocks would bring all of it crashing down into the snow.

That would depend on what kind of material the blocks were made from ;)

Eh, 8/10. Very nice but unfinished.

Furnishings coming soon, I'll be trying to get my hands on some prints and stuff to make the interiors less bare. Also it actualy doesn't lag at all, just if you look down at the entire thing from above or look at it from below, even then the game is easily playable. The station itself is absolutely bare, apart from an armory in the hangar.

A few more pics of the base facility
Energy Processing hut

Inside the hut

Fusion Core Plasma chamber

Next some interior views of the Hydrogen isotope pump system thing

Outside the fusion reactor room

Two of the many blast doors I have everywhere just in case pirates attack

That reminds me so much of lockout from Halo 2.

What it SHOULD remind you of would be the two levels that take place on Earth. At least one of them had a space elevator in the skybox thingy.
