Author Topic: Space Elevator Project (Very Heavy)  (Read 15766 times)

Its great, but why is it on the slopes? Seems more logical to have it on Slate..
Because of the epic snowy mountain scenery, of course.

If it's in space then it cannot be heavy.

Technically.

Indeed. It retains mass, but not weight (which, as I've understood, is something you get from doing silly calculations involving mass and gravity and other such things :cookieMonster:).

whats the server please?

None yet, stupid University campus network doesn't allow me to connect to other servers or host servers. I'll try bring it up on a public server as soon as it's done and as soon as I can get off campus (which would be the Easter weekend in 3 weeks unfortunately)

Thx for sending it to me, and why is their a big hole in the space station thinggy? and also, there are about two holes in the nature-place  near the roof, and just a sejestion, add pipes goind in and out of the nature-place. and in that one room with te three pillers near the nature place? you could put air-curculating stuff in there.

And lastly, it's very lagggy for me, I guess it's just my computer  :panda:

I emailed you so I can get the save. It is the best thing i have seen ever!

is it jsut me, or is the top of the space atation right on top of the bottom after one viewing? you can see it on the bottom, and it's not solid, and you can't see the top, but you can stap on it

That is the reason I built it on the slopes, players start on a high elevation point. If you aren't high enough as the bricks load, they will glitch out and materialize at the bottom of the build. Basically, stay on top of the hill until all the bricks are loaded.

Update

Because of popular demand and bombardment by emails, I decided to post a download of the half finished build here (note, the build still isn't finished mind)

http://www.mediafire.com/?ejm4ddzmtjt

I'll be posting some screenshots of what I've accomplished during the week possibly later tonight

Note: As you load all the bricks, do NOT move from the starting position. If you fly off the mountain or change your elevation, the shear hugeness of the thing will cause it to glitch and the station will materialize at the bottom of the build.

Fun fact: The updated version now has almost 40000 blocks, this version should has around 30000 to give an idea of how much new stuff has been updated

Actual Update

I've been pretty busy this week with midterms, lab work, etc, but I've been able to make quite a few improvements nonetheless.

What's new

Picked digmaster's idea out of the idea box and decided to give it a try, and we ended up with very cool results
Ventilation systems have been installed in the factory

Added 6 floors worth of height to the core of the station

The station now has it's own Fusion core reactor (you can even go inside it, beware of yellow lasers)

Built an Isotopic radioactive waste bath, and an array of skywalks around it

Yes, you can go inside there too, be sure to keep in mind that swimming in radioactive waste pools is strictly prohibited

And finally, looking down at the newly formed core section

This week's plan
- Heliport on top of the hangar (For VOT aircraft, if we ever get any)
- Something big to put in the factory
- The base facility needs more love
- The Research facility also needs more love
- Could use some more cowbell

Future development
- Discovering fire would be nice
- Laser quota reached, for now

lol, thx for that tip, it was bugging me, and thinks for using my idea!  :cookieMonster:

you forgot to install a defensife/offensife outside system
