It fakes LAN play, so if you use it you don't have to port forward, so everyone can join a hamachi server and then join your game via your hamachi IP.

I've used it to play legally obtained games over the net, it's just easier to play lan games. We also use it when my friend has lan parties. SO people not at the lan party can still play with us.
