The iPod/iPhone/iPad app store has a great variety of tools, games, and misc. things.

A few good games:

Gameplay:

In this game, you fend off zombies from your lawn using plants, you collect sunlight, which certain plants can give you more of, to plant these, and unlock more plants and such.

Just like the classic, a word finding game, you are in a library and you have to make words out of adjacent tiles, gaining points and trying to protect the library from certain dangers such as fire.

An MMORPG in which you run around as either a warrior, archer, or magician. Has an item mall where you can buy "Premium" with Apple Store cash.

You're a ninja and you cut up fruit with blades you unlock. Has achievements and Game Center online multiplayer.

Mirrors edge looks pretty good. An awesome game everyone should buy is Pocket God.

Wolfenstein 3d, Doom, Canabalt, Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja, etc. I've been using my iPhone for games quite a bit.
