Author Topic: Tophius' Figures  (Read 1702 times)

Going to begin some work on utilizing light and shade to produce some realistic results, but I'd like some opinions on the anatomy beforehand, particularly in reference to the second image.

This was just a very rough approach towards realistic rendering. I gave up midway as there are some issues that I would prefer to consider next time rather than fix up.

This is my current "project". After I am comfortable with the anatomy of this piece I plan to fully render this as smoothly as possible. I would like to achieve a final product close to a renaissance-era painting but considering the digital methods I am using as well as my limited experience I guess it's just me being ambitious, haha.

I would enjoy it if you shared your constructive criticism on both the anatomy of the second image as well as perhaps some on the first, lighting-wise.

On the second one I thought he was grasping his richard for a second there.

Would be a rather large snake, don't you think? The same thing actually happened to me for a fraction of a second. I might alter the cloth a little bit as it almost appears as if he lacks genitals, or bears very small ones. I was trying to replicate a similar effect seen in "Hercules and the Hydra".

Little update for today. I spent some time fixing up a few things as well as going over the image and accentuating the muscles as an aid. If there's anyone here with any knowledge on musculature I would greatly appreciate some criticism, because I think I have screwed up a lot with the arms.  :cookieMonster:

Also began shading.

It's not much, I know. I'll be sure to display some more major progress next time.

Eh, I honestly think you need a bigger cloth.

Eh, I honestly think you need a bigger cloth.
hot

though seriously you should take tesla's idea

Goddamit tophius

Why are you so good at drawing and arts and stuff

If you put them two next to eachother it looks kinda lol.

Also, if I were you, I'd down tone the muscles on the richard grabber.

I draw bodies too, maybe we can draw together sometime.

On another note, those balls are microscopic.
