Braces don't hurt after the first few days. Those first days and every time you get new wires you'll be sore, but after that you'll hardly notice them.
Be glad you didn't get a palette spreader.

my friend said the same thing, the lady that put them in said i would be really sore after i got them but they feel natural

My friend got braces in the holidays and I didn't notice until four hours after I saw her.

I had braces for 4 years, begging of my 8th grade year up until just last christmas. They suck when you first get them on, and the suck whenever you get new wires/rubber bands, but other than that it is really no big deal. I just got mine off a couple days before last christmas, just in time for senior pictures.

I got braces about a month ago. They hurt for the first few days but after that you get used to them. They'll cut your mouth to ribbons though when you first get them.
