Author Topic: The Encrypted Kick/Ban? (Read 901 times)

Ok, I have a 2008 MacBook with Snow Leopard. When ever I get kicked from a server, the message looks encrypted, almost like a bunch of weird characters. This really bugs me. I know I am kicked since I IRC'd the admin. This only happend once. I rarely get kick/banned. Help?

This usually happens to me too. On the second time I try to get into the server, it displays a normally typed ban reason. Doesn't apply to kicks.

This seems to have always been an issue with macs.

The easiest solution is just to download rtb and talk to the host through IRC and ask him what the ban length is.

I think it's normally when you get banned from a server without RTB.

I have RTB on Windows 7 and I have the same issue.

Although I don't get kick/banned much, so it's really not a problem.

It's a problem across all platforms. I think it has something to do with how the kick/ban data is sent. Sometimes it doesn't come out right and all you get is strange characters. But it's not caused by anything outside of the game itself, it's been there for as long as I remember.

Someone else should be able to explain what causes it better, though.

Whenever i get banned from a server the message will appear as:

The server has dropped the connection:

You are banned from this server. Reason:
"o^5819*(@!*(@!#)**!~`~{]\+_

This happenes all the time for me, and not even one time it didnt do it.
Even for kicks.

At least Blockland doesn't crash when you get banned like it does for me sometimes :P
