Author Topic: Nuke (But a different idea)  (Read 1606 times)

Among most suggestions are projectiles spamming thousands of emitters into the air and cauing a massive lag attack on the server. (Mini-nuke, anyone?)
However, my Idea for a Nuclear based item is one that only works for Minigames. Instead of launching a projectile. It causes all players to die, while orang-ish dustlike emitters flow past the player. And casting a orange light that lights up quite a bit of area around the player, but is not solid. Is a faint orange-ish colour.
With a server preference (for RTB) to end the round or not.

The Modern Warfare 2 nuke explosion being a slight example. Just without the HQ textures and blinding lights.

The item would be a 2 button remote.


if someone make this may they do a private version for me with HQ textures and blinding lights.
This would also be great for my Black op builds.

This is the first Nuke idea that had not recieved a No. for the first post.

Controversial. The emitters were never laggy at all, unless your running stuff. It was the brick damage aided by the brick physics mod that lagged with the mininuke.

The "Only can be used in a minigame" would be nice. But making it event based might be ruined by that...

The emitters were a severe problem on my old computer.

It could go under the Minigame events?

i don't think the mininuke ever lagged, just the fake killed bricks did, not the mininuke itself

One that has a radius and does a small ammount of damage every few seconds over a set ammount of time, kindof like fallout, and has an explosion (Kills anyone in radius) before doing the fallout stuff.

This is completely opposite of what I am trying to suggest.

Instead of using emitters, it should change the look of the players screen gradually orange-ish.

I think the flash grenade or something is like that.

I don't know if this is possible, unless you can use a combination of WhiteOut and DamageFlash to create orange.

I'm sorry, but this has already been created.  Rykuta has a tactical nuke for his modern warfare servers that does exactly that.  No actual spam explosion, but plays an alarm, then does a white-out/explosion sound and kills all players, ending the game.

That is almsot exactly what he described, but it is true that it isnt public.  Maybe I can convince him otherwise.
