it sort of lacks bright colors and that bugs me

Probably a tablet, lines aren't straight enough to be done with the line tool. Still, they're pretty steady.

looks like a line tool because most of the lines are straight and sometimes you can forget up with a line tool.

Well I used the curve tool

But the straight lines don't have any nodes other than the ends of the lines which makes them guaranteed 100% straight

I selected a line to show you there aren't any nodes in it except the ends (the orange squares are nodes)
