i mostly just dislike magic as a thing oc's have in general because more often than not it's a get-out-of-jail-free wildcard. oh look he can shoot ice crystals. oh look he's in a situation where ice crystals won't help him. what will he do??? he proves that his magic also lets him do another thing!! hot damn.

there's a character in jojo named okuyasu who can erase space but the dealio is he's stupid so i think that's a funny way to cap a magic's powers
