Man, i'm really bummed out about how this art class im taking seems to be going.
we're only allowed to do stuff in a realistic style, and the whole thing is we have to give everything we do a "meaning" or a "message" which they're currently trying to focus it on social justice and stuff.

half the class isnt even gonna be making actual art, its mostly gonna be doing a bunch of writing and research stuff about the subject they're giving us and then they actually let us draw stuff.

I just wanna get better at drawing stuff, not putting some message stuff into whatever I draw.

we're not even doing anatomy I think
like the closest thing is like a drawing of our/someone elses face and other than that we're just drawing a stuff ton of objects

I'm gonna take Drawing and Painting I next year probably, hopefully they just let me learn stuff instead of forcing meaning on it, the meaning comes out a lot more naturally if you don't even intentionally do it

yeah, it especially sucks if they force you to one subject

also I had this same art teacher 2 years ago and I remember she failed somebodies assignment because they made their opinion on something like food processing or whatever that they were okay with how it is.

I go to an art school and there's none of that there.

the art class im in right now (its mandatory) is the worst

my art classes are the only good thing about my school
they don't care how good it is or if there's any reason why it's the way it is
as long as you put in effort they accept it and give you pointers here and there
