if a human can do it, it can be modeled or googled
So does that mean that you have to look at some reference for every single pose you draw, and in order to draw poses sans reference you have to draw each and every pose you'll want to be using on the go over and over and over until it's hard wired into your brain?
then there's no need to be "accurate" to anything so i can usually just wing it, but typically it's not hard to just look for something similar as a reference
if i wanted to draw, like, a dragon or whatever, i have a bunch of monster hunter art books to provide me with assistance in posing, for example
What if it was not a dragon, but like some oversized dragonfly thing?
in fact I did draw an
oversized dragonfly thing, and I the only ref I used were locust wings and they were easy to just copy over because they're basically flat and anyone could draw a flat surface at some sort of an angle
Could you do something like this using only a locust wing reference? Or in order to make it look
as good as you could you'd have to go and search for images and references that would help you with the numerous spikes, the irregularly shaped feet, the strange tail fins/wings, the skull-like head, the overlapping armor plates and limb joints, all of that?
