it's unreasonable to expect people to do well?
that's an unfortunate truth, but really i don't expect many of you to do well at all, i'm just saying things for the sake of saying them
It is never unreasonable to
desire good performance from others, it
is unreasonable to
expect good things from people. I do not
expect everybody around me to do well, in fact, I do not expect anything from them until I know what their skill sets are and what they can do. What you're doing is not simply expecting people to do well, but expecting people to all have at least a minimal skill level in observation and mimicking what they can see.
Which is all kinds of wrong
because that doesn't happen. As far as I can see, you're making judgments based on the idea that
everybody must be able to perform as well as you can. You may not find certain things hard, you may not think that drawing things from references is difficult, but I know that many people, including myself, struggle to even come close to Tophius' level of skill.
What I'm basically saying is kindly forget off with your "Oh it's not haaarrrddd" because quite frankly, it is hard. It may not be hard for you,
oh mighty god-king of the arts, but I can tell you for a fact that I am not the only one who wishes they could have that degree of skill that Tophius displays.
Here's my left hand, drawn on paper and sepia'd by yours truly.

That's actually quite nice, I'm surprised.
