2: I like to think that there was at least a chance dragons weren't just made up, and if I can think of a logical way to explain the different aspects of something it makes the fantasy seem more real to me

Which is why it doesn't come out of their mouths! Flames are produced externally by igniting with a spark within the jaw line! :)
