scribbling is a VERY bad habit that's VERY hard to get rid of and you WILL run into problems later in your drawing career; god help you unless you nip it in the bud now

use long flowing strokes instead of going over lines as you go

in addendum, use your whole arm, too, not just your wrist. it might look terribad at first, but that's why you gotta practice.
