what

in what realm is giving extremely specific advice to someone not helpful

That's true, but you're going to have to define what a 'bad' practice actually is, and why it's bad.
Well, think about it: would you rather just grab a bunch of tools and materials and build a house or would you rather make a blueprint first to plan everything out before you start construction? It's the same basic principle.

then take it to pm's cus i'm curious as to why you think so.
can't PM, add me on steam if you really wanna know

in here lies the problem

you assume your way of doing things is the best way, and tell other peoples they're ways are wrong, but you never stop to realize that your ways and methods may not be the best way to do things.

here's the thing though
he's right

of course putting people down for not doing something a certain way is bad but he's completely right, basework and rough drafts are the easiest and most efficient way to flesh out a drawing by far.
the best solution is usually the easiest one.

i don't care if he's right or not, he's been going on and on for like 3 forgetin months telling other people how they should do art, all while barely posting any of his own

ok but you're failing to realize that I have had experience with BOTH methods and I have shown visual indication of a significant improvement with one method over another

look at the difference here

method 1 (old):

method 2 (new):

these were drawn two days apart from each other and had the same amount of time put into both

I mean come on you're basically trying to tell me that it's better to just wing it instead of meticulously planning it out to make it perfect

ok so just because I don't post art very often means I have no experience and that I should be completely and instantaneously discredited, I haven't been drawing since I was four years old or anything

its not like I might have obligations and responsibilities that keep me from being able to draw as much as I like, that's impossible, I must just loving suck

of course putting people down for not doing something a certain way is bad
thanks for the support, but I really hope you're just using this as a hypothetical example; I was trying to be as nice as possible when I posted my suggestions

granted I wasn't very courteous when flamecannon contradicted me right after I posted it but still

if you "just loving suck", maybe you ought to be honing your skill instead of dishing out advice. your activity is the same as a grammar national socialist at this point. you're asserting yourself based on knowledge that is arguably true, but you're doing it too frequently and applying it to minor things, like sketches. instead of imparting helpful advice, you're nitpicking, and that really doesn't help in the long run

the only reason im criticizing you for not posting your art that much is that you're constantly telling people that these tips of yours are helping you improve greatly, and yet when i call you out for it you say you loving suck? i don't get it tak. sort your stuff out
