might want to put lines to define the edges of the body/head
its pretty easy to do and will make it look a lot better im pretty sure

Alright thanks for the advice. I only used lines and the pencil tool to sketch this, but I'll keep that in mind just in case of the next time I do this.

Thank the Gradients or whatever they're called. Tricky to master at first, but I found a way to do this.

actually everything but the shading is ok

shadows don't work like gradients especially if the light source is inconsistent

on another note the head skin color isn't the same as the hand's.

Now that I look at it yeah it doesn't really do a good job for the shading

gradient tools are not good for shading

gradients are not good for shading
a gradient is, technically, the most realistic shading you can do

but just not when you do it with a gradient tool.
