HL2 keeps trying to reinstall itself.

So probably the first game I ever got on steam was the orange box, mainly for TF2. Since then I have installed/played/beat HL2 and the episodes, and since I never play them anymore, I uninstalled. Well this game must be undead or something because I keep catching it trying to reinstall itself along with HL2:DM and Lost Coast, and then I have to beat them back into their grave with a shovel. Does this happen for anyone else, and how do you fix it?

Used to happen to me, too. I don't know why, but I rarely log on steam anymore so it's not a problem :D

Are you sure you clicked on "Delete Local Content" rather than just deleting the files? If you just deleted the files Steam might be thinking you're just needing an update.

It might be trying to download them for Garry's Mod or something.

HL2:DM was doing this to me.
I just let it finish downloading and deleted it. This was yesterday though, so dunno if it keeps it gone.

This happens if you own gmod first time after uninstalling the games gmod reinstall the texture parts out of them just let them be there.
