Author Topic: Hosting a blockland server?  (Read 1792 times)

Hey guys, I haven't played Blockland in a few years, and was curious about the server-hosting status of the game.

I remember when I played it back in 2007, hosting was such a pain, an I was never able to host a server.

Now, my brother said it is supposed to be easier to host a server? Is this a 100% seamless action, or will I still have to jump through a bunch of hoops?

Thanks,

Jay

Server hosting uses port punching, So you should be able to.
(i love the term port punching.)

So, punching = forwarding... right?

No.
It now uses Universal Plug n' Play, or UPnP.
Makes it so a lot more people can host.
Though I never had to port forward, even before Badspot added UPnP, and I could host fine.

Doesn't that help any?

Hey masterlegodude!

That post hasn't been updated since 2008... is it up-to-date?

I don't know, but if you still need to port forward, it may work still

If you have a router that supports UPnP, you just enable that in the router settings and it should work just fine.

I think it's a bit slower though.
