there is  mute button on most decent computers

I love the idea.
Too many people? Mute all but one you talking too! Screamer? Mute them. Sensor? Mute em! Can't spell right? Use voicechat!  There All problems solved! Ideas for voicechat: Sound mixer, changes voice! Recorder, easier to do interview! And keep reg chat too so you can post links!

God, if I knew you in real life, everyone would know you on the news in a few months because they'd find you in little bits across the local river.

Guys you all must be stupid..
If voice chat was introduced there would obviously be a mute button so you dont have to hear the 8 year olds.

Common sense.

I actually thought Blockland already had a mic function because of the Block Wars video. Or were they just using a mod?

Neither, windows media player allows you to edit in sound, I can imagine that being in many other programs, but it isnt a feature of BL.

On topic: No, I dont want some freaking 2 year old sing his abc's to me, and I dont want to mute him and anyone else I ever meet. No. Just No.

Not the point moron.

If everyone is doing it, then mute everyone. It ruins the point. Now a private Mic. chat... Might be different.

Mute function. This way you can't complain.
Yus. Take TF2 for example

Yes, an add-on supporting private mic chatting instead of server-wide chats would be pretty cool, and the only implementation I would support. However in order for such a thing to be possible, Badspot would have to implement a voice stream class that Torquescript could make establish connections to, probably similar in usage to the TCPObject. Any publicly released add-on would also require a server that can handle a potential thousands of users all using it at once.

Oh hey, it's this topic again.

...Did I see someone back there say voice chat is a "really good idea"?

Oh hey, it's this topic again.
I KNOW SERIOUSLY! OMG HURRY MAKE MORE TOPICS ABOUT IT!

I'll pass. I don't like the idea of voice chat in Blockland, honestly.

1) Get Steam
2) Run Blockland with Steam overlay
3) Invite friends to voice chat
4) ???
5) PROFIT!

God you're all idiots. Voice chat is a terrible idea, I already got that point across in one of these pages.

Second of all, it may be easy for you to say "D'ohoho just mute them!"

Then that would lead to more problems; Host banning you for not listening, people raging because you cannot follow the directions they are CHATTING, etc. etc.

It's a bad idea, and if it's that hard for you kids to download something like skype, steam, msn, or some other thing to voice chat on, then I am surprised you guys even knew how to install Blockland, make an account on the forums, and post here.
