Maybe a hand model but when you attack, it plays the animation of your hand swiping with a blade out then your hand would go back and the blade would disappear.

or make an addon that would work for all weapons, that just hides the weapon nodes and lowers the arm while hidden, and when you are ready to attack, the node will reappear and and POW ownage.

no, not mounting. then there would be no weapon there.  You hide body part nodes and item nodes.

Would it be possible to make the weapon thrust forward when you hit and a little blade comes out of it?

i get it, hand node is there, but when you attack he pulls out a blade, slashes, and hides it again. this would be a good addon.
