To begin with, yes I already know there's a film discussion thread but I didn't want to burden it with one my rants.
5. Sandlot

This was one of my favorite movies as a kid and looking back at it now while I'm older I still love it. The effects are cheesy, the acting can be so bad that it's funny at times, yet I still love this film. The characters are likable and memorable except for that one kid who kept repeating lines. The story is quite humorous although the main plot isn't introduced until like halfway into the movie. This movie also contains one of my favorite lines, "You play ball like a girl!" This film was very well executed and not a single thing about it ruined the film... Well except maybe this:

forget marketing. But I'll save that for another rant.
4. Casablanca

I don't really want to bother writing out a 10 page essay about this film because I have a love hate relationship with this one.
3. Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times

I said it in my film studies essay and I'll say it again. This film was loving awesome. Although the slapstick is quite primitive I still find it hilarious and I found both the tramp (as usual) and the new characters very enjoyable. They have the same likable spirit as the tramp yet they aren't a blatant rip off of him and manage to sustain their own personality. The ending was spectacular in my opinion. Although it's cliche (it probably wasn't back then) I believe it would have ended the series perfectly. WOULD HAVE! Until, of course:

SCREW YOU, YOU PIECE OF stuff MARKETING! HOW CAN YOU MAKE SUCH A GREAT FILM AND CREATE A PIECE OF stuff AFTER THAT! GOD DAMMIT!
2. Inception

This film was great and it literally left me with my jaw open at the end of it. What really made this film different from the rest is that it made you think. Yes children, you have to use your brain; don't try too hard now! Honestly though I understood it perfectly and I don't know why so many people don't know what the forget is going on. Anyways this movie finally put originality back into films... At least until they make a stuffty sequel for a few extra bucks. Did I mention that I hate marketing?
1. Hachi

This movie made me loving cry. I don't care what you say. Nuff said.
