Hey, I really like the model. It looks really cool, but I think the amount of polys is a little higher than necesarry. I don't think it really fits in Blockland very well.
Based on the video, it looks like it's really big. The length that the other hand has to extend to hold the grip makes it look like the Gauss Rifle is as tall, if not taller, than the Blockhead himself. According to some images I found, it's only long as... eh... about half of a person.
But, yeah, keep up the good work. Looks good, and I understand why there lotsa' polys.

It's pretty cool, but I know that anything that is suppose to be large is going to have more poly's than less, so I don't have too many complaints.

I made it from hexagons and cubes. What else am I supposed to do, the weapon is complex.

The blockhead is loving short. That's why. A normal persons leg-to-torso ratio would be at least 2:1. The minifig has a ratio of more like 1:1. Its not my fault badspot made it too loving short.
