Author Topic: Wall Leaning!  (Read 1047 times)

You know, leaning around walls, like in FP to peek around corners semi-safely.

This is actually a pretty good idea.
Good thinking bro :o

I'm not sure what to say, all my other suggestions were stuff. So, thanks.

Blockland is already glitchy enough when it comes to player - brick collisions.
I think someone could make this addon easily, but there would be tons of engine bugs that arise from it.
People falling through walls, able to see through bricks, etc.

You can already sort of do this. Just mess around with third person by holding "z".

The point is for the dms and tdms, or even zombies. IN FIRST PERSON.

You rarely see a TDM where it uses only First Person.

I always stand so i'm parralell to the other side of the wall, then hit Z, Turn my head, and peek around. That or go third person and tilt my camera untill i can see. Second one is cheating though.

And yeah leetZero is right. The only TDM i've been to that uses firstperson is GC's.

tip, run to corner, run back, tadah, no need for wall leaning which is basicaly the same thing...

I actually like this, but this is would take up too many keys on my keyboard.
I'm running out of space, not joking.

i be lacking a numpad, so that might be the reason why

Do you all use the arrow keys or wasd? If you don't use the arrows -> for right lean <-for left lean. Same for wasd d for right a for left. And anyways I hate third person DM/TDMs (in blockland). The z thing in fp is cheating too because there is absoulutely no way to be hurt except by rls and nades/nade launchers. Wall leaning/ peeking is much more possible to be hurt, but not as much as stepping out in the open.

i use the arrow keys for emotes :D
wasd for movement ijkl for brick movement, maybe if this is done, brick movement would work for wall leans

There could be a keybind system in the options. Anyways since i have absolutely no idea how Torque works, if it wouldnt work any other way could there be a 'ball' underneath the player and they slide down to wall lean?
