Author Topic: School was canceled today, AGAIN  (Read 1883 times)

Today the school was closed after the water pipes broke, lucky me! What happened was that I was about to go to first period, when the fire alarm went off. The whole school evacuated out onto the fields, we went back inside to go to our first period classes, when it was announced that the school was going to be exacuated to the church, which is the nearest available open space. My dad came and picked me up, and then we went skiing.
This is the second day and I feal like the luckiest man in the world. On a side note, I got a spliter under my fingernail on Friday, which hurt. What are your experiences with school closings?

I few years back we had ice storms in NH and this is how it went down

Storm-What the hell is that!

1st Day- Yay no school!

2nd Day- No school again, yay

3rd Day- We need moar food

4th Day-ITS TOO loving COLD

5th Day- GET ME OUT OF THIS HOUSE

6th-Day- Yay, hotel time

a few days later

Day before school started again-Yay some warmth  and i can see my friends to see how they are doing

School-I hate shool

Whenever school is closed due to snow I enjoy taking out my ATV and riding in the snowy streets.

Meh, the week before last week, school was closed for a week!

School almost never closes in California... Mediterranean :c

Down in the south, school was closed for a week cause of snow.

Never in my whole life has there been a day that school was canceled.
yaybelgium ._.

Days then the schools are closed are both a good and a bad thing for me.

I love having a day off, getting to relax and forget about stressing over school, which happens more and more frequently now, as my final days in compulsary education are nearing, and a lot of exams are looming.

But, I hate then being behind and never really reclaiming that chance to study that little bit more for my exams.
Not to mention, every time I get a day off, my teachers treat me as if it's my fault that I'm suddenly overcome by illness, or the entire county has been hit by snowstorm.
Then they always rush us with the already stressfull workload that were trying to cope with.

*sigh* Weekends are a happy time of stopping and waiting.
People ask me why I don't do much on weekends, it's literally because I have to sleep.
Otherwise I'd break down during the week. Which I already did once, last week.

Have fun making it up in the summer

Had a few delays and closings here and there, but nothing like 2004. Christ.

what?

Also, I love days off from school, there are no consequences to being off the I consider negative. I'd rather have the whole winter off and go to school in the summer anyway. I also hate everyone in my school aside from a few people that I could contact outside of school so there is no want for "seeing my friends."

what?
Mediterranean means an area where there are not as many "extremes" in weather.

Only had one snow day ever ._.

Have fun making it up in the summer
Our school has "Built in snow days", it allows a certain about of snow days without us having to make it up in the summer.
