Author Topic: A pair of headphones/set/whatever that won't loving break  (Read 1306 times)

I'm looking to buy a very durable, around-ear, and preferably noise canceling headset, I don't care about the price as long as they'll last a good long time. My last headphones were the AblePlanet Clear Harmony, the ones before that were the Plantronics GameCom 777. They're made out of seemingly tough plastic, but after a while certain delicate parts wore out, with the GameCom it was the part where the earpieces move around, on the Clear Harmony it was the swivel part. I won't complain if they're stiff, heavy, or ugly as long as they don't need to be replaced within a year of use.

Also, a built-in mic would be nice, though not needed.

Everything can break br0, just stop raping them and they'll last longer.

I wear them normally, the worst they endured was the rare drop from someone tripping on the cord. And they didn't break then, they just suddenly show signs of cracking along some flawed plastic mold or something after about a year of being owned.

I'd get some Sennheiser headphones, I've heard they're pretty durable, really good sound quality too.

My next pair of headphones is going to be some Sennheiser headphones.

I had a really large pair of headphones that lasted forever. I constantly dropped it and finally the bastard snapped on the left side.

I then moved onto a very thin strap headset which still works and is in prime conditions yet the left side is somewhat loose for some reason.

And now my current headphones are made by Microsoft with a noise suppressing mic. I too have dropped this quite a bit and I have yet to see it break.

I'm lookin' at the HD 800 and PC 360 right now, HD for nearly $1,800 and the PC for almost $300. Sadly I cannot find any reviews that were made by people who used them constantly over the course of at least a year.

While ones that can handle several drops are very good, I'm looking for long-term durability. Repeatedly putting on and taking off headphones hundreds or thousands of times throughout the months is actually a bigger threat than getting banged up a few times.

I sat on my old headset and broke off the left earpiece. Had it ductaped but when the right one broke off too I just bought new ones . . .

I've had the G35 by Logitech for 7 months now with no sign of wear and tear.
Theres a tiny white scuff on one of the sides but that was my fault. I scraped it on my old desk.

Look, if your gonna get something get it high quality. It will last longer and wont make you look like an idiot. It only makes sense if your gonna get stuff for games and go out on them, might as well go. Higher quality. Turtle Beaches are not so expensive and a high quality.

What's with all the expensive as forget headsets? D: I get mine for like £15 and they last around a year each with a built in mic with both great sound and recording quality.

Use earphones, that wont break easily.
