Author Topic: Buying new computer parts, need tips.  (Read 1286 times)

Hey guys, so within the next month, I'm hopefully going to be picking this stuff up;

New CPU fan;
Option 1
Option 2
If anybody knows any better ones, then let me know, I have a socket AM3 processor.

More Ram;

Option 1
Option 2
I'm hesitant about the second one, because I don't think I need 10 gigs of ram, I currently have 1 stick of Option 1, so I'd have 8 gigs in total.

GPU;

Option 1 two of them.

Or if anyone else has a suggestion for a better GPU, lemme know, it doesn't have to be 2x, but I do want a new one :I

Thanks in advance <3

I heard XFX had stuff customer support.

XFX isn't too bad. If you are going to get a new cooler I would go with Corsiar's H70, at your price point. It out-performs both of those and is supposed to be alot quieter. I wouldn't go for 10gb. I wouldn't recommend mixing and matching sticks of different sizes, 8 is more than enough. Don't bother going with two mediocre cards in CFX. It'd be better to get a $300 than two $150. I haven't really looked lately, but I think that ATI released a 6 series card for around $300.

Just download more ram

I swear to god if I see you (or anyone for that matter) post that again, I will murder you.

I'm not a handicap, so I don't need customer support.

Would you mind recommending me a card?

Also double post, isn't the H70 liquid cooled?

Yes, the H70 is in AIO liquid cooling system. It's about as hard to install as any other cpu cooler.

The XFX 6970 has a double lifetime warranty incase you either break it or sell it to someone else. The brand doesn't matter, though

What does that mean?

What does that mean?

It means it will not overheat.
Don't know how much more simple I can say this. :P

But is it liquid cooling? Because I refuse to use it, I've made 4 rigs with liquid cooling, 3 of which I had professionally installed (2 of them were by Corsair Techs themselves) and there was always leaks.

Yeah, it's liquid cooling.
I had a liquid cooling system before, and it never leaked on me. You just have to use a good case and cooling system.

You don't really need liquid cooling anyway, unless you're playing games or rendering something 24/7 in a very hot room.
