Title describes thread.

Maya / 3DS Max. Feel free to debate.

Because this thread hasn't been made a million loving times.

God Jacky, you're becoming more idiotic everyday. We have search button, so get your hand off your wanker and click it.

I did search...

Maya / 3DS Max. Feel free to debate.
Completely correct.

However, the prices are astronomical.

The new version of Blender is only for new people, I can't use it anymore. I prefer 2.49, but since you're new to it, get 2.56.

Blender > 3DS Max

Ive used both. Blender was better.

Now, stop making these stuff threads.

I use Milkshape3D, but it is really whatever program is easiest for you to use.

I recommend trying both Blender and Milkshape and seeing which one is best for you.

I like Wings 3d. The only problem is you have to import it into blender or ms3d THEN export it.

The best modelling program is Maya. It costs a couple thousand dollars but that is the best program.

The "best" modeling program is the one that works for YOU.

get a bunch of them and try stuff out.  Find one that you like and stick with it.  Personally I can't stand blender or Torque constructor.  So I use milkshape (cost: $20) and one called 3d world studio (cost: $80)

Maya (~3500$) and 3DS Max (~3500$) are the best ones around. Cinema 4D (~1000$) is probably good too.

Torque Constructor is capeable of excellent modeling, the issue is that it is so freaking hard to do you would make a better gun in Blender in the time it takes to build a presentable gun in Torque Constructor.

Edit: Whoops, didn't intend to bump sorry.
