mine is vertical, but it's in a thin shelf that is pretty hard to screw up, so it's alright.

This happened to me in the car, my mom accidently pushed the Xbox back and it fell. The disk in there had a perfect circle around it. Then we went to a store and somehow they filled in the cracks, and it now works.

I got to that, and was curious wtf it was doing in there. A sane answer was taking it somewhere, maybe because your friend didn't have one to use or something. An insane answer, and the one that first came to mind, is that you were trying to play it in the car... Which is a handicapped idea, as cars hit bumps all the time.

My cousin screwed up my Just Cause 2 when he tried to move my 360 while I was playing :/
