Author Topic: Help with running CS:S  (Read 947 times)

So, I was thinking about getting it, but last time I played it on my pc, it got about 3fps on De_Dust2 but GMod 10 gets 10-20 fps on Construct (My pc sucks) and 15-30 fps on Flatgrass. Half Life gets 30fps 70% of the time but lags on certain parts. So, why does everything else lag? I've tried many config files but none worked. I was running Source 7 (Not 2007, Build 7) with GMod but i'm not sure about HL2. So, is there a certain version I have to get?

Stats:
Intel Celeron 2.70GHz
760mb of Ram
Intel 82845G Extreme Graphics

So, will they all run slow, or is it just the version?

get a computer that doesn't suck.

Stop trying to run games on a computer from 1998.

Upgrade the RAM, that's probably slowing it down, i get 35fps with 2gigs of ram and a 1.8 GHz processer.

I can`t upgrade.

Not unless I can buy something from Wal-Mart for $25 CDN.

Don't tell me to mow lawns. I live on a farm, and even though I could go into town, my parents don't like that idea. Anyways, this is my parent's computer from 2007. Guess I'll have to keep playing RGA2. :c

Whenever I played CS:S on this crappy computer, I would always get low FPS on the maps like De_dust2 and the other ones that come with it. I ran about 30FPS on the maps custom made on some servers.

I only play DM. Are there optimized versions of the default maps?

I just want to play. :c

Anyways, this is my parent's computer from 2007.
How did you get a computer in 2007 that can't play a game from like 2004?

Graphics Card is 2003-4

well, turn down the graphics, dont run full screen.
mabey get diffrent skins?

Well, it was unplayably slow.
EDIT: I should just get CS1.6 even though I find it ugly. :c

If that doesn't work then give up playing CSS.
