Would this be the most epic mod in history?

No doubt bro!
Heck no!

Roller Coasters
Are They Possible on Blockland?

The idea: A 'Roller Coaster Car' vehicle snaps to 'Roller Coaster Track' pieces. Riders can control the forward and backward movement, but the car always stays on the track, and is affected by gravity (speedwise).

The 'Roller Coaster Car' vehicle:

The 'Roller Coaster Track' pieces:
  • Straight Piece (4x4x1)
  • 45 Degree Upwards Incline (4x4x4)
  • Straight To Upwards Incline (4x4x2)
  • 45 Degree Downwards Incline (4x4x4)
  • Straight To Downwards Incline (4x4x2)
  • 90 Degree Turn (8x8x1)

All track pieces would be Blockland style, and possibly have nubs shooting downwards to allow for connecting to supports. These few track pieces alone would allow you to make some gnarly full-circuit coasters.

I don't know if it is possible to make such a vehicle that can snap to special bricks, so could people please shed light on the subject? Minecraft already has a roller coaster mod out, I noticed.

probably possible, easily made? probably not

If it is possible, I will make a team and create it. I know many people that can script, model, whatever.

i think you're wanting it to be something like minecraft, by the way

I really don't think it is... If it WERE possible, someone would have made a good Train by now... with TRACKS.

I'm not at all... I've been thinking of roller coasters on Blockland for ages. I'm actually thinking of Roller Coaster Tycoon much more than Minecraft (Who likes that crap anyways?)

Says who?

how you're describing it, is like minecraft, and many people like playing it you know, even if you dislike it
and i ment it's like minecraft in that you're riding in the cars, and the cars snap to the tracks, where as in roller coaster tycoon, the trains tend to fall off after a while, and you're not actualy riding the train

Haha... trains tend to fall off ;) That's only if you make the track open-ended. And in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 you do ride the roller coasters. Although in this, I suppose you would be able to control speed (although it would be cooler if you couldn't :P) because it'll be easier that way.

and no, it breaks every once in a while :D
and i might only have #2, so i wouldn't remember it

I have all 3, and all expansion packs ;P
The coaster only ever fails if the trains collide or fall of the edge of the track. Period.

Anyways: is this possible on Blockland?

It's possible but there is no way it could be made that wouldn't be horrid.

ie, it's possible to do it but not possible to do it well enough to bother.

I doubt that. As long as the car is snapped and runs back and forth like any other vehicle, it would be fine.

I've been working on this for a while. It's epic on the tracks.
